Lapulapu-Cebu International College (LCIC) was born from a forward-thinking vision rooted in a deep commitment to education and global competitiveness, meant to lay the foundation for a transformative institution in the heart of the Philippines. As a product of a Filipino - Japanese joint venture, LCIC was established to equip students with the skills, knowledge, and multilingual proficiency necessary to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.
Situated on the vibrant island of Mactan, a renowned hub for tourism and language learning, LCIC was designed to bridge local talent with global opportunities. The college aspires to mold students into highly skilled professionals capable of making valuable contributions to society.
LCIC officially opened its doors to students, with the first and second floors of the Foreign Languages Building completed. Additional student halls and other facilities were expected to be finished by the end of the said year.
A framework completion and ground-purifying ceremony was conducted, symbolizing the institution’s solid foundation. This event was attended by LCIC stakeholders and contractors, celebrating the progress of three major buildings: student halls (820-person capacity), the faculty building (6,130㎡), and the main building (3,020㎡)
The groundbreaking ceremony for LCIC was held in Mactan
Island, marking the beginning of its journey to becoming a premier institution.
With a steadfast commitment to academic excellence, LCIC continues to promote an internationally recognized standard of education. Its faculty members are dedicated to research, teaching, and developing globally competitive graduates who contribute to the advancement of the Philippines and beyond.
As LCIC grows, it remains anchored in its core mission: to equip students with an additional language beyond their native tongue and English, fostering a new generation of professionals prepared to thrive in the international community.
