March 16, 2026
Student leaders from various departments gathered earlier today, March 16, 2026, for a strategic
meeting titled “Launching LCIC’s Future: New President’s Vision,” held at the Science Building,
Room 108, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 NN. The meeting brought together officers of the Supreme
Student Council and representatives from student organizations to engage directly with the
institution’s newly appointed president and key administrators.
The meeting was led by the President herself, Professor 𝗘𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗹 𝗔𝗴𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗣.
𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘇𝘂𝗲𝗹𝗮, EdD, CESO IV who opened the platform for student leaders to share their
visions for the institution’s future. The session was called under her instruction by the
Student Affairs and Development Officer (SADO), Mr. Leo Ceniza, and the Student Experience and
Success Department (SES) Assistant Manager, Ms. Elien Baay.
Participants included student leaders from several academic programs and organizations, namely
the Society of Multicultural Learners (BAFL), Student Tourism Advocates Responsive to Service
(BSTM), The Association of Physical Therapy Students (BSPT), Civil Engineering Council (BSCE),
and BA in English Language Studies (BAELS) representatives. After introducing themselves and
sharing their positions and expectations for the meeting, the participants were divided into
three groups for a collaborative activity.
Each group developed a poster illustrating their vision for LCIC in 2030 and presented their
concepts to the assembly. Among the ideas raised by the student leaders was the expansion of the
institution’s academic offerings beyond the five programs currently available, which they noted
could provide more opportunities for students and strengthen the institution’s academic
presence.
Students also expressed the aspiration for LCIC to gain greater recognition both locally and
internationally. Suggestions included establishing stronger partnerships with respected
institutions and organizations in the Philippines and abroad, as well as exploring possible
connections with regional and international networks such as ASEAN and UNESCO.
Another idea emphasized during the presentations was the importance of developing a clear
institutional identity for LCIC—one that immediately comes to mind when people hear the name of
the school. Participants also envisioned LCIC becoming a renowned institution that produces
globally competitive graduates, with strong employability among its alumni and clearer career
pathways for students after graduation.
Student leaders further highlighted the need to strengthen communication and transparency within
the campus community, noting that clearer coordination between students, faculty, and staff
could help minimize misunderstandings and improve collaboration. The importance of inclusivity
and compassion within the institution was also raised, with participants expressing the desire
for an environment where students from different programs and backgrounds feel equally
represented and supported.
Other ideas discussed included increasing the visibility of LCIC within the wider community,
organizing more interdepartmental engagement activities, and establishing additional student
organizations and clubs that would allow students from different programs to collaborate and
interact more frequently.
Following the student presentations, other key administrators also shared their insights,
generally expressing their willingness to support these initiatives and encouraging students to
work together with the administration in pursuing the goals discussed. Those who shared their
perspectives included Academic Manager Ms. Ivy Marie Abao, School Registrar Dr. Sharon Monsale,
and Advisor, Office of the President & Finance Mr. Shingo Shinozaki. Executive Advisor,
International Marketing Mr. Yasushi Iida was also present among the attending key
administrators.
The gathering served as an initial step, under the leadership of the new president, in fostering
dialogue between the administration and student leaders as the institution moves forward with
its strategic direction. Through the concluded open discussion and collaborative idea-sharing,
the meeting highlighted a shared vision for LCIC to become more visible, globally connected, and
reflective of its identity as “𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙙𝙡𝙮 𝘿𝙞𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙩.”
