LCIC LCIC Soars Success at 11th International Travel Festival; Quimat Secures 2nd in Tour Vlogging

Guided by the theme “Dream. Go. Live,” the three-day event provided an international stage for LCIC’s 3rd-year Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM) students to showcase their skills alongside industry leaders

The delegation’s efforts reached a high point in the Tour Vlogging category, where Abigail Quimat (Entry No. 1) clinched 2nd Place. Representing LCIC as the sole placer in the category, Quimat described the experience as both nerve-wracking and deeply rewarding.
“It was a meaningful experience that allowed me to represent our institution while gaining real exposure to the tourism industry,” Quimat shared. “Through events like this, I get the chance to interact with different people, learn from their experiences, and see how things work in the real world.”

The festival launched March 13 with a grand ceremony, paving the way for a weekend of intense competition. While Quimat headlined the victories, other LCIC students demonstrated the college’s broad talent pool.

Maree Julliana Lopez showcased her expertise in the Tour Guiding category. Simultaneously, the powerhouse trio of Mary Grace C. Escala, Aia T. Librando, and Catherine Earth T. Olalo battled in the Quiz Bowl.

Edward Cortes and Chenna Shayne Filomeno, alongside Cyrus James Almonia and Ma. Teitjana Quiñones, contended for the Mr. & Ms. Tourism Cebu. Hesly Basco commanded the Pop Idol stage, while the Dance Palabas group – Jhon Ivan Caldoza, Angellah Gabbrielle Medenilla, Elisha Nicole Sorreño, Hyacinth Meaka Makilang, Erin Julia Santiago, and Andrei Dominique Ditching – delivered a high-energy cultural showcase.

Dean Joshua A. Augusto and Angel Banquiao represented the college for the Tour Package and Costing competition. Meanwhile, Fatima Yennaizha Jadi joined Quimat for the Tour Vlogging, while Lee Emrald Roma and Geneveve Marie Gocela headlined LCIC’s entries in Essay Writing and Poster Making.

Several BSTM 4th Year students were also spotted at the venue as they represented different establishments and companies participating in the event, highlighting their professionalism gained through their training and internships.

For students like Quimat, the 11th ITF served as a reminder of LCIC’s commitment to preparing students for global opportunities beyond the classroom. The festival concluded Sunday, honoring the brightest stars in tourism alongside premier industry partners.
