Second-year students from the Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Language program of Lapulapu-Cebu
International College (LCIC) visited Tsuneishi Heavy Industries (Cebu), Inc. in Balamban, western
Cebu, on May 15, 2026, as part of their Japanese Civilization course.
The tour was led by Mr. Johnrey Baring together with Mr. Romeo Aquino, who guided and accompanied
the students throughout the educational visit. Ms. Leah Entica, a safety officer of the company,
also oriented the students on workplace safety protocols and operational standards observed within
the shipyard while touring them around the company’s facilities. Through the visit, students were
introduced to Japanese workplace culture and industrial practices through firsthand observation
inside the shipbuilding company.
Tsuneishi Heavy Industries (Cebu), Inc., a Japanese shipbuilding company known for constructing
international vessels in Cebu, continues to maintain ties with LCIC through shared opportunities
that support students’ academic and industry exposure.
The visit allowed students to connect classroom learning with real-world applications of Japanese
culture, discipline, and professionalism, further strengthening LCIC’s commitment to globally
oriented and experiential education.
