𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐆𝐫𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐲, 𝐋𝐂𝐈𝐂’𝐬 𝐒𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐠s 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐑𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫-𝐔𝐩 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐡

The Lapulapu-Cebu International College (LCIC) Futsal Team, Smart Stags, delivered a competitive performance during the futsal matches held on April 11–12, 2026, in Kalag-itan, Buanoy, Balamban, Cebu.

Competing in the U19 category, the Stags finished as first runner-up. They opened with a 4–0 loss against Rascals Talisay, followed by a 1–1 draw against Lady Falcons, and a 2–0 win over Stray Warriors. They earned a spot in the championship round, where they once again faced Rascals Talisay. Despite an intense match, the Smart Stags fell short with a final score of 4–2.

The following day, the Smart Stags pushed forward in the Women’s Open category, placing among the top two teams in Bracket A (semi-finals). The team recorded a 1–1 draw against WD40 & Above, secured a 4–2 win over BK FC, and suffered a 4–0 loss to Stray Warriors. This placed them in a crucial position, forcing a penalty shootout to determine the top two teams advancing to the semi-finals. The Smart Stags narrowly lost the shootout, 3–2, but still secured a top-two finish in their bracket.

Despite the mixed results, the tournament highlighted the team’s ability to adapt, recover, and compete under pressure. The Smart Stags demonstrated grit and determination across both categories.
